Melbourne Art Fair 2008's Project Rooms featured new work created by: Damiano Bertoli, Jonas Dahlberg, Pat Foster and Jen Berean (in external forecourt sites curated by Mark Feary); Chantal Faust, Gabriella and Silvana Mangano, Dorota Mytych, Kouichi Tabata, Jong Gu Yoon (Centre of Contemporary Photography Melbourne); Jensen Tjhung (Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces); Sean Bailey and Alex Vivian (Joint Hassles); Ronnie van Hout (Satellite Art Projects); Brook Andrew and Claudia del Fierro (The South Project); Kyungah Ham; Kaori Kato; Anne Zahalka (offsite Project Room at Sofitel Melbourne); and profile artists from Tai Snaith's curated program House Proud in association with Next Wave Festival.

    Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces

    Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces (Melbourne) presented the work of Jensen Tjhung. Tjhung's diverse practice reflects the schizophrenia of his generation. His drawings, sculptures and large-scale installations present distorted memories and damaged impressions of his surrounds.

    Next Wave (Melbourne) presented House Proud, commissioning seven emerging artists to create new, site-specific work in seven homes in and around Melbourne. Curated by Tai Snaith, each installation was open for a one-day inspection during the Next Wave Festival.

    Satellite Art Projects

    Satellite Art Projects (Melbourne) presented R.U.R, a temporary public sculpture and bold new work by Ronnie van Hout (Melbourne/NZ). The sculpture was an eight metre long robot, lying prone on the concrete paving of the forecourt as if it has just fallen.

    For Melbourne Art Fair 2008, The South Project exhibition consisted of video installations by Brook Andrew and Claudia del Fierro and a 'reading room' providing access to significant critical contemporary art publications that do not normally reach Australian audiences.
