After a long and fruitful relationship the Australian Commercial Galleries Association (ACGA) and the Melbourne Art Foundation (MAF), presenters of the Melbourne Art Fair and the Awards for the Visual Arts, have become separate entities. Both the MAF and the ACGA are looking forward to future opportunities that this independence will bring.
The Awards are an important opportunity for the visual arts community to recognise two of its own, and project to the wider general public the esteem in which they are held.
The Foundation's commissioning of living artists is a significant initiative that has major benefits for both artists and the broader public.
